Vision

To graduate healthcare professionals who demonstrate ability to think critically, communicate effectively, accept human diversity, and deliver ethical, safe healthcare as a member within a discipline of their profession.

Aims

The general aims of nursing is to provide the learning atmosphere & opportunities for students to train NURSES equipped with knowledge, competence & commitment who are self directed individuals & responsible citizens. They are preparing to give comprehensive nursing care to individuals, families & community in heath as well as in illness. Further they are expected to participate in teaching & managerial functions in nursing education & nursing practice.

Objectives

On completion of this course, the nurse is able to……
  • Apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioral sciences, medicine including alternative system and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
  • Demonstrate competency in providing health care to individual, sick or well, using nursing process.
  • Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with the national health policies and programs.
  • Utilize latest trends and technology in providing health care.
  • Communicate effectively with individual and groups and members of the health tem in order to promote effective interpersonal relationship and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical/community health setting.
  • Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in clinical/community health settings.
  • Conduct need based research studies in various settings and utilize the research findings to improve the quality of care.
  • Recognize the need for continuing education for professional development.
